Alexander Durvin was born in Louisa County, VA on 11 June 1875 (not as inscribed on his gravestone). He worked for the C&O & B&O Railroads. He lived in Richmond, VA and Baltimore, MD, among other places. He is buried in the Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery in Columbia, Fluvanna County, VA. His wife was Lucy Harris (Shepherd) Durvin, who is buried in the Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.
